No. 1.
(No. 33.) Sir,
Sir Edward Grey to Sir F. Elliot.
Foreign Office, April 3, 1914. WITH reference to your despatch No. 42 of the 19th February, I transmit to you herewith copy of a note from the Netherlands Minister in London, who asks that His Majesty's Government will lend their support to the representations which the Netherlands representative at Athens has been instructed to make to the Greek Government with regard to the reservation which they propose to attach to their signature of the Opium Convention.
I request that you will take such steps, in conjunction with your Netherlands colleague, as may appear to you proper and desirable with a view to inducing the Greek Government to withdraw their reservations.
I am, &c.
